A visit

Today, we went to visit my mum's sister (zi yi)<---teochew, 2nd aunt.
Heard she had just recovered from her illness and is now feeling better, so my mum, sis and I went to visit her.
Along the way, we bought an apple strudel to give to her!
When we arrived, we had a long conversation with her. She told us that she don't eat strudel, so we decided to eat it then. Yeah! My first time eating a strudel ^___^V

Well, the crust of the pie is crispy, there are small bite size apple and cream and some cai yan(something like pudding) in the pie. First piece tasted excellent, but the second piece I took, I felt it was too much. So, as a caution to others, don't take too many serving of strudel at one shot!! lol.

Then Ah Heng Gor Gor came back home, and had ta bao food for us along the way. As we eat, we catch up with each other of the old memories, the best hai nan chicken rice with the best chicken rice chilli we had always tasted at our old house there, the best cha gueh tiao at my Primary school canteen etc. Yummy! I still remember all those taste and smell of the great chefs! It's a pity that nowaday, even with TV nominated best chicken rice and cha gueh tiao, I still can't find SOMEone who can truely claim the no.1 spot.
It's even sadder that they had retired long time ago, and that not many people choose to believe what I said about the BEST hai nan chicken rice and cha gueh tiao I had tasted. T___T

It is also one reason why when someone tell me "hey! the chicken rice there good!" or "cha gueh tiao here is NICE!" I always doubt so.
They might be not bad tasting, but to me it is still not up to standard yet.
I guess it is very fortunate for me to taste so far the best hai nan chicken rice and cha gueh tiao especially during my childhood days.

Okay... back to the subject of this header, I can't control myself with all these good food experiences.
As we continued chatting, I realised that I had not seen my cousin (Ah Heng and his siblings) for 14YEARS since I moved to Hougang. Oh gosh! I still get to meet my 2nd aunt as on big occasions but not her sons and daughter ( all older than me)
WOW 14 years seems so long, yet it is like a short while had just passed and there, we met again.
