Different culture

Actually, I should be doing my mini project for my Industrial Attachment. However, I forgot to take my diskettes back home after dropping them into my helmet and locked up my locker.
So, I guess I'm free now to take a bit of time here writing my b-log. (^___^V)

Well, I had a game of soccer last evening. It was a match against a team of "ang mo"s. YEP!
During the game, they had chances, good or bad tries, they would encourage each other by saying, " WELL DONE NICK! WELL DONE PETER! WELL DONE... THAT's THE WAY TO GO!"

As for our side which is pure chinese, our kind of encouragement didn't really sound like encouragement to us, it goes like this," WAH LAN EH! WHERE THE F*** IS THE DEFENCE! RUN LEH! MIDFIELDERS NEH!? KNN LAR!"

(Ok, I won't bother to explain what those abbreviations mean, you got to get someone experience to tell you.)

AND yes, first time in my life that I'm not playing soccer at all, because our team played a silly "long ball tactic". I would state out the points why I felt I was not involved in the game at all.
1) I was a midfielder, right-centered, in a 4-5-1 formation.
2) As soon as the game began, my right back and right wing disappeared to the front AT ALL TIMES.
3) I was supposed to cover 3 men's ground which was impossible.
4) I was shouted at to aid in attacking, in a long ball tactic game, pure long-ball tactic game. So I ran up-front and found the ball soaring backwards towards our goal (countered-attack) , ran back to cover 3 men's ground.
5) Our team never did string up 3 or more passes to each other.
6) Our defenders were all sweepers, cleared the ball at any situations, the worse was that they couldn't even clear properly.

Despite all of that in the game, another point worth talking about was the ang mo's friendly spirit. They apologised almost immediately after commiting a foul.
In contrast, our people seems like going out for a fight after commiting a foul ~___~

Well, I really felt some sort of shamefulness. We should have think of a way to play better, and not picking up petty quarrels.

Whatever, I think most probably my friend and I are not going to help playing for this team anymore, if there isn't going to be any improvment at passing and reading of the game.

"Well done, Peng, you showed them you are the best!"
zhaoru.
