Zpop Concert

My friend won the tickets to Zpop concert at Padang last saturday.
I was invited to accompany him there.

We reached there at 620pm, the concert had already began and crowds are swarming in...

I would say besides nice music, there are some funny people there too ( well, maybe not so funny).

There were many supporters, fans of HE YAO SHAN, LIN JUN JIE, YIDA, ENERGY, F.I.R, LINDA,... etc

Before the sky got dark, my friend and I spotted a fat guy, bald head, with beard and sideburn, whom was in front of us (about 30m) , flashing his middle finger in the air! lol. ( a total joker)

Each person, upon entering into the Padang compound, was given light sticks. And there was this group of girls beside us, and we noticed that they had about 20 light sticks with them. That leave us wondering where they got it.

When the sky turns dark, you can see the "missiles" soaring the sky, very much like the javelin competition you witnessed in the olympics. It seems that there are people out there competing to see who threw their light sticks furthest. ^_^a

And during Sun's performance, those fans took up three boards with the letter, S.U.N. formed with light sticks and were raised above their heads. I was standing far behind them, and they were blocking my view... and the funniest part is.... I thought those fans were from NUS.....lol.
(I was wondering why NUS was here...)

Well, in this concert, it was F.I.R (the last four to perform) that built a rapport with the WHOLE crowd, everyone KNOW how to sing their song, and it's so nice to listen to the voices of all in the whole Padang singing their song when Faye hand over the mic to the crowd.
In the end, Faye went crying again (as usual) and we sang her a birthday song since her birthday was on the Friday.

As soon as F.I.R. finished the four songs they had prepared, most of the people left.... ( last three performance was by a Korean guy, Ren Xianqi, and ENERGY)

Well, I think F.I.R. won all the support in this concert hehe...
And yes, I stood for 5 hours... ...
T_T

Signal flares!

Wow! I would say this week I have pretty much stuffs meeting the deadline.

Actually, it's not something new in school life, just that I made a promise to myself, to work hard this semester, to attempt all tutorials.

Hence, life hasn't been easy for me...

Geez, I guess it can't be help. This third year sem 1 is going to be a last crucial war, because after this I will be going for my industrial attachment! And 4th year will be left just with FYP ( terminology: Final Year Project aka Find Your Partner) ^_^

I can't wait to FINISH this semester, the time table is so packed!
I really need help!

Vegetables....

"Eat more vegetables! They are good for your health!" told by my mum

If you ever had sit beside me, joining me at lunch or so, you will notice that I don't have any forms of vegetables in the food I ordered.

Well, except those fast food burgers.

Actually, I don't detest vegetables, I just don't want to eat them.
Amongst the type I dreaded most, is the bitter gourd ( ku gua) !
NEVER ASK ME TO EAT IT!!!
read my lips -----> "N.O." -.-

I can't get myself to taste such bitterness from ku gua and say " It's NICE!" +_-
Sometimes, I just wonder why my sis, mum, and other family members telling me that,"the bitter gourd is nice today."

Well, how they defined nice is certainly not going to overwrite the thought of bitterness in them.

I still remembered the worst experience with having to eat ku gua in my childhood.
I need to have some sweets to get ready, and a cup of water stand-by.... the moment my grandmother fed me a spoonful of rice with ku gua (sliced serving), I have to quickly "GLUP" and swallow it all, then rush water down my throat and finally after the meal a candy to remove the taste!

Well, I still have some vegetables I like: kang kong with chillies, "potato leaves" kan tan hio with chillies, cabbage with pork ribs.

^_^V AND I LOVE to eat meat (chicken only).

So if any one going to give me a treat someday, you know what to order! wahahha~~

Team build course

TEAM BUILDING!

Yes, the course for leaders to get together and learn more about each other, and as well as to learn about YOUR own weaknesses!

I got this chance to participate in a team building course held by SAF for all section commanders (3rd sgt) in the company. Our company is a bridge building company ( we used to call it " tak gio") , thus cooperation and communication between the section commanders must be forged..... etc (zzzzZZZ ~.~)

Well, I will leave the details to SAF to explain to you.

During this course, we had ice-breaking sessions, and games which focus on group work, and yes the main part:
There was this "event", everyone was given 2 pieces of paper, we were told to comment on two personnels' good points, and/or bad points. The name of the person you are commenting on the other side of the paper, and pinned the paper onto a large softboard with their names facing out.

Till everyone had pinned up their comments, the instructor began distributing the papers that to the respective receiver.

I had 5 pieces of papers!

I remembered my good points are:
1) Cheow Joo (me) is a capable and responsible leader
2) He can get things done; he is trustworthy.

and my bad points are:
3) He like to go his way
4) Hardly took in opinions of others.

Yes, all five pieces of paper wrote about me can be summarised in these 4 points.

I was shocked, all 4 points were as true as it was! When I reflected upon myself, I do like to give the impression that if a task is given to me, I will make sure I would accomplish it. Same goes for my bad points! I would say I DO listen to others' opinion, but usually I considered my own idea to be the best... and thus.....

Well, that was what I got from my colleagues, I wonder what you do think of me? >:)

My humble past

Ever wondered how you began to learn how to count in mathematics?

Back in my early days when I was a 7 year old boy, I began learning the multiplication time table....

Well, this might seem nothing unusual to most of the people, however, it was a special memory of mine.

I was told to memorise the time table from 2x table till 10x table; My fifth uncle is the one who is in-charge of teaching me.

Every evening, when he came back from work, I will have to recite the time table to him in this manner, "1, 2 =2; 2, 2 =4; 3,2=6......etc" till the 10x table, standing on a stool.

Whenever I failed to recite a row correctly, I will have to raise up my palm for a cane.
Back then, my grandmother was always beside me, trying to encourage me, and hoping that I won't get a next smack on my small palm.
My eyes were filled with tears, I would not be allowed to take my dinner until a satisfactory standard in my memorisation of the time table was fulfilled.

Yes, pretty hard on a 7 year old boy (I was a tough boy! ^_^)

Well, I ain't writing this to sound out this "treatment" I got from my fifth uncle...
ya, I do admit that during that time, I was cursing and swearing at him deep inside my heart.
However, till today when I recalled this past memory, I still wanted to thank him truthfully.

My foundation was built (maths), and I think I owed this to him.

I wondered if someday, You, who is reading this, will ever take up the cane to teach your son?

White complexion...

"WOW! Why are u so 'white'?" exclaimed my sis and aunt.

"ehhh...... is it?" ~_~

"What facial foam u used? Did u put on some face complexion color (white)?" asked my friends.

"well..... no." ~_~ <----- me

Geez, to answer to all queries why I have white complexion skin, i decided to tell it here, so that whoever seeks an answer to this might read it here.

It's actually a long story;
True I did use facial foam to wash my face, well before "man" type of foam was introduced, I was using or should I say, I was trying out all sorts of commercial type of facial foams.
You name it, I can tell u good or bad; loreal, seabed, gardnier, oxy, shokubutsu, follow me, Za, ginvera etc.....

Well, to tell the truth, I'm not really in to make my face smooth, white, or whatever, instead it started off that I just wanted to find a type of facial foam that suits my skin, I didn't really know anything about oily, dry or combi skin stuff, especially during my secondary school days, there's so much pimples popping up from my whole face literally.
So, might as well say I was looking for a "cure".

But all this never did help to curb my problem, fortunately, the pimples began to fade after my sec4 year. Thus from then on, I pay more attention on taking care of my face.

It was when I began National Service, that my condition worsened again. It was inevitable since during training, perspiration, dirt etc gets on you, skin condition is usually hard to maintain. During my Army days, I became tanned, or darker than what I was. But as soon as I'm 3 months after ORD, my skin complexion turns back to white again.

Well, I'm happy of my current "face" condition. And guess what, there's a tale behind why I have white skin complexion as "base color".

I was told that when my mum was carrying my elder sister, she drank COFFEE as usual; the result when my sis was borned, she looked kind of.... dark.

Thus, my mum was afraid of coffee when she was carrying me in her womb. She drank SOYA BEAN MILK, and yes, that made what I am today!

And when my mum was carrying my little brother, she drank TEA, well you will have to take a look at my brother for the answer.

Cheers! ^_~

The beginning

For some reasons, I wanted to start writing out some of my thoughts.
It's been a while I have a chance to sit down, and think what's in my mind...

I might use this to record some memories of my past ^_^, army life, school life and anything about myself.

It's time to speak up.
