Buying a DSLR
The first time I read his site for dslr, I was fascinated! I learnt more on the functions of dslr and envious of the great pictures found in his site.
After owning my dslr for more than half a year, I revisited his site today. And I felt that his site is more than just an advertising ground for canon and nikon.
Making absolute statements without knowing the facts are deceiving to those whom like me went to his site, for honest review before buying a dslr. Making a statement for canon 5D mark II as the highest reso and no other dslr beats it in more than 3 x of it's price is rubbish. It only shows the shallowness of the reviewer that he is only residing between canon and nikon, forgetting about the rest of the camera makers. Sony had 2 dslr with 24.6 MP effectively and nikon has one, the D3X. And Sony A850 cost half as much as 5DMII. Barely facts.
If it's true, Canon made their cams from pros' advice/request. Now if u tailored to the pros, it wouldn't mean it would fit the floor. So importantly, before getting a dslr, one must try it out for themselves. I chose Sony for the ergonomics, menu navigation ease, and price of the system.
Forget reliability! Electronics are a hit or miss thing! Do u happen to get a device u love so much and after buying it back home, it's not working with a new set?
Simply go for an exchange if u get a defected set.
High quality pictures doesn't fall proportionately with How many megapixels your camera has. A common mid conception among consumers as they seem more beautiful in their LCD screens. MP gives us resolution to blowup our pictures to larger prints without seeing our pictures pixelated. 2 MP is good enough for 4R prints. 10MP can go up to A3 size.
Budget is the main concern when getting a dslr. Do take yourself to check out the whole camera system and what lenses you might be purchasing/ targetting. This would leave you yo be a satisfied consumer at the end of the day. Cheers.
